David Ashby - President
David
has 10 years experience working on computers and
internet related projects. Early in college at
UNC-Wimington, David worked on campus for the
Information Technology group, while completing
his BS in Business Information Systems and Computer
Science. After graduation in 1998, he moved to
Seattle, WA where he worked for various dot.com's
including echarge.com,
marketorder.com
and safeharbor.com.
After a several years in the rainy Pacific Northwest,
David moved back to the east coast, and began
work with Arsenal Digital Solutions doing support
in the Network Operations Center.
Beginning
in 2004, after being introduced to Ed by his daughter
Lauren, David began to work with Ed at Pro-Active
Design. Ed gave David many opportunities to work
on several sites, and relationship grew to include
some management responsibilities and design.
Following
the passing of Ed Vilandrie, David has taken over
the management of Pro-Active Design. David can

Ed
Vilandrie - Founder
Ed
has over thirty years of experience in developing,
implementation and managing software and hardware
based solutions in various environments such as:
website development, computer design, manufacturing
and corporate operations. His responsibilities
have include: corporate management, general management,
project management, business operations, business
process re-engineering, design and manufacturing
engineering, customer liaison, proposal development,
cost analysis, project scheduling system integration,
installation and training. He has been involved
with the Internet since 1995 and has been in commercial
Website development since 1996..
Some of his specialties has been working with
Internet start-ups and companies who need
redirection in their web initiatives. Deliverables
have included: website conceptualization, detailed
layout, scheduling, design, analysis, implementation
and management, for web based commercial accounts,
providing design, computer servers, Internet marketing,
e-commerce solutions, staffing and maintenance.
His projects have include participation
in business plan generation and detailing all
areas, website presentation, investment and return
on investment.
Ed
Vilandrie passed away September 7, 2005 after
a valiant battle with Leukemia. Ed leaves a legacy
that touched so many of us - as a community youth
leader, entrepreneur, engineer, family member
and friend. He was a Board of Directors member
at the Smithfield YMCA for the last 25 years.
He was the first President to serve the newly
chartered Smithfield YMCA in 1982. He also more
recently served as the YMCA's Corporate Secretary,
Treasurer and Chairman of the Capital Development
Campaign. He was actively involved in youth competitive
swimming and water polo including being the former
President of the RI Swim Coaches Association.
He had significant organizational and fund raising
involvement with several other aquatic teams including
Little Rhody Acquatic Club, Bishop Hendricken
High School and Brown University. In addition
to involvement with these endeavors, Ed most recently
helped the disabled community by co-founding internet
sites created to aid those with physical disabilities.
Ed was founder and President of various e-commerce
businesses including launching in 1996 the first
internet marketplace for wholesale commerce and
trading. Prior to his e-commerce and internet
endeavors, Ed was an electrical engineer at Foxboro
Company from 1967 to 1987 and Elsag Bailey Company
in Ohio during the early and mid nineties. He
was a member of the Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He was also previously
founder and president of a Providence based wholesale
trading firm. He graduated from Roger Williams
College with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
